Latest Updates from Our Project:

Campaign Finished!

Hiya folks!

Just a quick update, but even though we ended the campaign short of our final stretch goal. That crazy Matt Towle already wrote the spell so we're gonna give it to you anyway! Also, here's the link to the episode of Spellburn that just finished. I'll message folks in about 2 weeks when PDFs are being sent out.

Last Day of the Campaign! One Stretch Goal Left!
18 days ago – Mon, Feb 23, 2026 at 05:50:56 AM

Hi folks!

We're almost at the end and its been a wonderful ride! I'll be guesting on Spellburn tonight to talk high-level adventures. So feel free to hop in the chat and ask questions about running high-level games. Julian, the author of The 10th Doomstar, is one of the regular hosts of Spellburn so its a perfect time to put forth your questions. If we can't get to them during the show, I'll try to write them down and get them answered in a Backerkit update sometime later on.

Stretch Goals

We hit that 9k stretch goal so I'll be working on some item cards! The VTT tokens are already finished btw. We've gotten a burst of new backers that helped us cross the 9k line, but please keep sharing this campaign so we can try to reach that 10k goal and get what I believe to be DCC's first level-6 spell!

Timeline

I'll have the PDF ready to share with folks very soon. Approximately 2 weeks after the campaign ends, I'll send out PDFs for everything (including add-ons). I'll give about a week for folks to typo hunt then I'll send the files off to the printer. So, unless there are unforeseen delays, its possible that shipping starts in early April.

We keep on moving along. Nearly 300 backers! And for all those of you here, here's a free PDF. This is a small pamphlet that $2 on DTRPG, but it was also sent to the backers of The Conquest of Chaos so a number of you may already have it. The discount code works just until the end of the month so get it while you can!

New Stretch Goals!
about 2 months ago – Tue, Jan 27, 2026 at 12:15:48 PM

Hi folks!

We had a lot of awesome suggestions for more stretch goals. To make a long story short, I chose a couple that I thought would add quality to The 10th Doomstar while also not delaying the project.

9K

Item Handout Cards: Any weird magic or technological item that PCs might pick up will be made into a small card that can be handed out to the players. This will be provided at least as a digital handout, but may be included on the inside cover of the print copy, assuming layout allows for this and it does not delay print production.

10K

A Level-6 Spell: We shall be the first (so far as I know) to create such a powerful spell! This level-6 spell will be a reality rewriting spell, not intended for the faint of heart. Any casting has the potential to forever alter the world, if not the universe! This will be provided at least as a digital handout, but may be included on the inside cover of the print copy, assuming layout allows for this and it does not delay print production.

Beyond That?

Beyond that the profits will go towards my next project: Academia Arcana RPG. You can actually grab the free QuickStart guide for it right now on DTRPG. It's essentially the DCC rules but a teenage wizard school setting with all new classes and spells. It will be a standalone game that you won't even need DCC to use, though you might want it for all the extra spells! All the art from the QuickStart version is (fantastic) stockart, but I hope to replace it with all original work!

All stretch goals met! Suggestions for more?
about 2 months ago – Sat, Jan 24, 2026 at 07:53:47 AM

Wow folks! I sure thought those stretch goals would last longer! Five days and we've blasted through them all. There's a month left so give me some ideas for a 10k stretch goal and I'll see what can be worked into the budget!

As something fun to show off, Dax (who works more quickly than any other artist I've collab'd with before) already finished the stretch goal art for Xcrawl the Mall! Here's some jello covered zombies that the PCs have to deal with in the mall's food court. It's Chow Time!
